Ruth Virginia Jackson, 92, of Springport passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born March 24, 1920 in Spiceland the daughter of John Henry and Nona Bell (Jackson) Estell.
Ruth enjoyed cooking and baking, and especially caring for others. She had lived at Raintree Square Independent Living for the past couple of months where she enjoyed activities and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Douglas Jackson with whom she lived on a farm near Springport for many years; a son; Gary Williams of Batesville; a grandson: Hawley (wife, Amanda) Williams of Knox; 4 great grandchildren: Joe, Alex, Emma and Jackson Williams all of Knox; a sister: Lillian Ritchie of Middletown; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Cecil, Howard, Richard, Paul, Jim and infant, John Jr. Estell.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Rod Beheler officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
