Sandra Sue Blanchette

Sandra Sue (Alvey) Blanchette, 67, of Spiceland, formerly of Kankakee and Crescent City, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 16, 2024.

She graduated high school from Bradley Boubonnais Community High School in 1975. Sandra worked for many years and retired from Shapiro Developmental Center in Kankakee, IL, as a Mental Health Tech 4. She enjoyed taking care of the residents. Sandra loved spending time with her family and her dogs, Baby Chewy and Max (RIP). Her favorite memory was watching her kids play sports when they were growing up. Sandra was a sweet soul with a golden heart and was loved and will be extremely missed.

She is survived by her 3 children, Richard M. (Kory) Blanchett, Joseph (Jodi) Blanchette and Lisa Blanchette; her mother, Sylvia Alvey; two brothers, Michael Alvey and Tracy (Sheri) Alvey; grandchildren; Brennan (Lily) Blanchette, Brianna (Eric) Carter, Emma, Quintin, Elijah, August, Hannah, Nevaeh, Dominick and Harmony Blanchette, Peyton Cox, Dakota Carmack; 1 great-grandchild, Oliver Allen Blanchette.

She was reunited in heaven with many family members including, her husband, Rick Blanchette; son, Brian Blanchette; mother-in-law, Foy Bradley Baker; father, Thomas Alvey; father-in-law, Richard “Dick” Blanchette; sister, Cindy Alvey; brother-in-law, Michael (Lisa) Blanchette; sister-in-law Tammy Blanchette.
