Sarah B Lewis

Sarah B. Lewis, age 82, of New Castle, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at Stonebrook Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. She was born October 7, 1929 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Charles and Bertie (Huddleston) Keith.

A Henry County resident most of her life, she worked as a nurses aide for several years. She attended Greensboro Friends Church. She enjoyed reading, taking pictures and caring for her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (husband, Don) Davis of New Castle; a sister, Maudie Hatcher of Idaho; three grandsons, Andy (wife, Tiffany) Byers of Knightstown, Dennis Byers of Knightstown and Donald William Davis of New Castle; a granddaughter, Sherry Davis of New Castle; two great grandsons, Jacob and Kaden Byers both of Knightstown; two great granddaughters, Danika and Adalynn Byers both of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lewis in 1986; a daughter, Linda Byers; three brothers, Charles Brooks, Henry Brooks and Charles Keith, Jr.; three sisters, Izora Silvers, Katherine Flynn Johns and Dorothy Cleghorn.

Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 7220 US 31 South, Indianapolis, IN 46227 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
