Scott Hembree

June 24, 1968 — November 2, 2009

Scott Eric Hembree, 41, of Knightstown, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 24, 1968 in New Castle, the son of Harold W. Hembree, Jr. of Anderson and Beverley (Thompson) McComiskey of Knightstown.

Scott graduated with honors from ITT. He achieved an Associate of Applied Science degree. Scott was employed by EMC. He worked as a project manager for their Commercial Midwest Division of Technology Solutions Group. He coached boys and girls basketball at Tri High School, and also coached his daughter, Madison, in softball. Scott was an avid music lover, playing guitar, drums, and keyboard. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and dirt bikes, golfing, fishing, spending time with his family especially while playing x-box.

In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his wife of 19 years: Robyn Rene’ Hembree of Knightstown; daughters: Brittney (Travis) VanOsdol and Madison Hembree both of Knightstown; son: Grayson Hembree of Knightstown; brother: Jeff (Sheila) Hembree of Columbia, SC; niece: Erica Hembree of Columbia, SC; nephew: Tyler Smith of Kokomo; in-laws: Reno and Delana Smith of Kokomo; brothers-in-law: Derek and Chad Smith of Kokomo, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Kelly and Grace Thompson; and paternal grandparents: Harold and Eunice Hembree.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, November 6, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverends David Cornelius and Steve Branstutter officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday, November 5, 2009. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison and Grayson Hembree Trust Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
