Scott Shaffer, 62, a resident of New Castle passed on to his reward Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at his home. He was born August 7, 1957 in New Castle, IN to the late Lloyd and Constance (Rotroff) Shaffer.
Scott was a 1975 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He retired from Draper, Inc. and was owner of Advantage Design, Inc. Scott had previously worked at Modernfold and Borg Warner Corp. He was a member of the Church of Christ on County Road 200 North where he served as a deacon, Bible Teacher and was honored to lead the congregation in worship in song. An avid outdoorsman, Scott enjoyed fishing, camping, classic cars and model airplanes. His greatest joy was the love of his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Scott's memory are his wife, Nena (Davisson) Shaffer, whom he married August 7, 1976; two sons: Chad (Rebecca) Shaffer of Greenwood and Craig Shaffer of Pekin, IL; four grandchildren: Mia, Annika, Will and Bowen Shaffer of Greenwood; siblings: Steven (Darlene) Shaffer of Ocala, FL Sandra (John) Hayes of Noblesville: several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by a sister: Sally Hardwick.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Phil Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday, prior to the service.
