Sharon “Susie” Denice Miller, 65, Knightstown, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a lengthy illness. She was born October 2, 1946 in Henry County to the late Harley C. and L. Lorena Purtee.

Sharon was a 1968 graduate of Ball State University and earned a Masters Degree in 1973. She always wanted to teach. She taught high school business at Spiceland High School from 1968 to 1969. She taught 41 years in business at Rushville High School retiring in 2010.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 43 years whom she married in 1968 Kenneth E. Miller formerly of Dunkirk; brother: Danny L. (wife: Mary) Purtee and their children William (wife: Jodi) and their children Jessica, Taylor and James (wife: Britte) and their child Ryan and by a previous marriage, Quinn; brother: David E. (wife: Mary “Midge”) Purtee and their children Melissa, Megan and Matthew.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Glen Cove Cemetery with Reverend Carolyn Stoten officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Cancer Society c/o Rosemary Muncy 1909 Walnut, New Castle, Indiana 47362.
