Sharon Kaye (Barnes) Smith, 66, of Greenfield died May 18, 2010. She was born June 20, 1943 in New Castle, IN the daughter of Henry and Jewell Barnes.
Mrs. Smith was a United Auto Worker and retired from Ford Motor Company in 2007. Sharon was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary Post 152, UAW Local 1111, and Model A Car Club. Sharon loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She was an avid Colts fan.
She is survived by her husband: Darius Warren Smith of Greenfield; a daughter: Teresa (husband: Jim) Kelnhofer of Champaign, IL; a son: Rob (wife: Noelle) Hall of Greenfield; stepdaughter: Susan (husband: Vince) Perry of Greenfield; stepson: Chris (wife: Robin) Smith of Pleasant Valley, MO; five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, one great granddaughter, four step great grandchildren; two sisters: Juanda (husband: Buddy) Rose of Knightstown and Carol (husband: Bill) Charles of Spiceland.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Allen Southerland officiating. Friends may call from 3-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 689 Columbus, IN 47202 or "IU Foundation - Transplant Surgery" Indiana University School of Medicine PO Box 660245 Indianapolis, IN 46266.
