Sharon J. Teague

Sharon J. Teague, 79, formerly of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born June 13, 1945 in New Castle to Estill and Roena (Catron) Criswell.

Sharon retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital, Kokomo as a registered nurse in 2018. She had previously worked at Henry County Memorial Hospital for over 30 years and also worked at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle as a nurse. A 1963 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School in New Castle, she was a 1966 graduate of Ball Memorial Hospital. Sharon had been a member of First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle. She enjoyed cross stitching, collecting Precious Moments figurines, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tony Teague, whom she married April 13, 1969; son, Shawn (Amy) Teague of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Levi (Jordan) Teague of Westfield, Quinn (Kendall) Teague of Noblesville, Aiden Teague and Gavin Teague, both of Denver, CO; mother, Roena Criswell of New Castle; siblings, Nancy (Gary) Nash of Noblesville, Micah (Natalie) Criswell of New Castle, Dorothy (Gerald) Groce of Knoxville, TN and Rebecca (Mark) Murrell of Kearney, MO; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Rachel Elaine (Hass) Criswell.

A nurse honor guard service performed by Hancock Health will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. The funeral service will immediately follow with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will take place in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
