Shawn Hinshaw

Shawn Allen Hinshaw, age 45, of Selma, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday at Hancock County Regional Hospital. He was born June 30, 1963 in New Castle, a son of Joseph and Cecele Marlene (Heath) Hinshaw.

He was employed by Switzer Transportation in Mt. Summit as a transport driver. He attended the Selma United Methodist Church with his daughter Morgan. Shawn’s loves in life were the Lord, his family, and racing. He had competed at Mt. Lawn Speedway and Anderson Speedway. He enjoyed fishing, playing practical jokes, and loved his daughters very much.

He is survived by his two daughters, Ashley, of Muncie, and Morgan, of Selma; his parents, Joseph and Marlene Hinshaw of Losantville; four brothers, Larry Hinshaw of Greensburg, Jim Hinshaw of Muncie, Tony Hinshaw of Losantville, and Jay Hinshaw of Losantville; five nieces and nephews: Chris Hinshaw, Jenny Hinshaw Evans, Brandi Hinshaw Jesse, Megan Hinshaw Pegg, and Jason Hinshaw; great nephew: Kyran Pegg; great niece: Kali Marie Evans; many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by Ashley and Morgan's mother: Rachael Chris (Schnuck) Hinshaw.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November, 17, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Rich Collins and Mark Ellcessor officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Losantville. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ashley and Morgan Hinshaw Memorial Fund C/O Old National Bank in Losantville with envelopes available at the funeral home.
