Shawne E. Land, 51, New Castle passed away Thursday evening, December 31, 2015 following a tragic accident. She was born March 22, 1964 in Fulton, MO to Ronald and Shirley (Gaddis) Giboney.
She and her husband, DeLayne, owned and operated Wayne Co. Stripping and Refinishing for over 10 years. Shawne was the primary caregiver for her in-laws, Dick and Rheta Land. After their passing, she and DeLayne owned and operated Farmers Pike Festival where they developed many special relationships with their vendors and customers. Shawne was a member of Chicago Corner Church, was an avid Colts fan and loved pontooning. She enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends, but most importantly her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 35 years: DeLayne Land; two daughters: Corenda (Justin) Koby of New Castle and Ashley Land (Fiance: Michael Gibson) of Straughn; three grandchildren: Coraland Koby, Layne Gibson and Costin Koby; her mother: Shirley Giboney of Straughn; two sisters: Sabrina (Rob) Suttles of Straughn and Lisa (Raymond) Phillips of Cambridge City; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her pet dog: Bennett.
In addition to her father and in-laws, she was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Roger Hendricks officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Shawne Land Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
