Shelby J. (Haynes) Turner Hagerman

Shelby J. (Haynes) Turner Hagerman, 86, a resident of New Castle passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Henry Community Health. She was born July 1, 1937 in New Castle to the late James Haynes and Ann (Goforth) Cleek.
A homemaker, Shelby had worked at Best Western Motel and Evelyn’s Ceramics in New Castle. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball, bowling and doing yardwork. Shelby was always helping others by doing laundry, sewing and general housework. She loved ceramics and made several ceramic Christmas trees. Shelby was a member of Gulletts Creek Baptist Church in Needmore, In and loved listening to George Strait.
Survivors include a son: Joey Turner (September Clark); two grandsons: Joey Turner, II (Chelsey Denney) and Joel Turner (Erika Olson); former daughter-in-law: Linda Moistner; three sisters: Vicki Howell, Dianne Stone and Linda McGuire; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Carl Turner; second husband: James Hagerman; grandson: Joseph Turner; sister: Mary Walden; brother: Jack Haynes; brother-in-law: Jerry Walden.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Gary McCutchen officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition at a later date. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Society at 13770 Noel Road, Suite 8018889, Dallas, TX 75380.
