Shirley Davis

Shirley Loreana Davis, 78, a resident of New Castle passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. She was born September 19, 1934 in New Castle to the late Paul H. and Frances Emogene (Green) Beck.

A homemaker, she was a graduate of New Castle High School and had attended First Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, reading and sewing.

Survivors include her husband: Howard Davis, whom she married October 2, 1976; six children: Teresa (John) Pierce of Fishers, Michael (Linda) Romine of New Castle, Pam (Chuck) Green of Hagerstown, Barbara (Jack) Thurman of New Castle, Paula (Jimmy) Statzer of New Castle and Sara (Jake) Hart of Camby; four step-children: Keith Davis of Selma, Dawn Davis (Lori Reed) and Kelli (Ronnie) Braun, both of Parker City and Michelle Sexton of New Castle; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Nancy Beck of Carmel and Joyce Hambrock of Bluffton; a niece: Jill Johnson of New Castle; two nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vernnon Beck.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with her grandson, Pastor Brian Romine officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, prior to the service.
