Shirley Margene Landis, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024. Born on August 28, 1937, in Sullivan, Indiana, a daughter of the late Eddie and Mildred (Jeffords) Scully.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was supporting her family. She was a proud and constant presence at her grandchildren’s sporting events, always cheering them on and celebrating their achievements. In addition to her family, Shirley loved golfing and spent many happy hours on the course.
She retired from the Perry Township School Corporation after over 20 years of dedicated service as a school bus driver, where she positively impacted countless young lives. Throughout her life, Shirley worked various jobs, always demonstrating a strong work ethic and a kind spirit.
Shirley is survived by her children, Mark (Becky) Landis of Indianapolis, Shauna Watters of Zionsville, and Mike (Margie) Landis of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Anna (Billie) Bowling, Sara (Ethan) Hopkins, Max (Stephanie) Landis, and Morgan (Aaron) Sparks, and great-grandmother of six.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Danny Landis, and her siblings, Eddie Scully Jr., Gene Scully, Catherine Ferguson and Stan Scully.
Graveside services and entombment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Indianapolis at the convenience of the family. You may express condolences or share memories of Shirley at www.hinsey-brown.com.
