Shirley Joyce Perry, 81, entered Heaven’s gates on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Born on January 25, 1943 in Albany, KY to Oral and Eliza Witham. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, David Lee Perry on October 9, 1960.
Shirley faithfully served as a loving pastor’s wife for over 46 years. For the last 8 years her sons, Randy and Kelly, were blessed and honored to be her pastor. She loved gardening and keeping her yard beautiful, was an immaculate housekeeper, and could put the spread on her dining room table like no one else. Shirley enjoyed crafting, sewing, decorating, shopping, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Shirley is survived by her four children, Debbie (Pete) Norwood of Rogers, AR, Randy (Nellie) Perry of Indiana, PA, Kelly (Cindy) Perry of Macon, MO, and Tina (Rick) Rigney of Moulton, IA; ten grandchildren, Christie, Jennifer, Randy, LaBreeska, Heidi, Jessica, Amy, Caleb, Kendra, and Kayli; 23 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Geraldine Haynes of Pendleton, IN, and Norma Jean (Eldy) Marlow of Knightstown, IN; and four brothers, James (Linda) Witham of Crawfordsville, IN, Dewey (Lois) Witham of New Castle, IN, Keith (Kay) Witham of Pendleton, IN, and David (Nancy) Witham of Cambridge City, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oral and Eliza Witham; husband, David L. Perry; and one sister, Sharon (Witham) Harmon.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at South Side Church of the Nazarene in New Castle with burial to follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
