Steve Craig, 32, of Sulphur Springs, went to meet the Lord Tuesday, August 16, 2011. He was born August 17, 1978 in Anderson, Indiana to Richard M. and Linda F. (Rains) Craig.
A very devoted son, husband, father and friend, Steve loved his family dearly and was a fun-loving Christian man. He was a 1996 graduate of Shenandoah High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He attended IU East and received his MRI technologist certificate from Hancock Memorial Hospital, graduating with honors. He was presently employed PRN at Central Indiana Orthopedics and full time at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis as a MRI technician. He was a member of Sulphur Springs Christian Church. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He helped coach his children’s soccer, basketball and baseball teams.
Survivors include his wife, Melia (Bain) Craig of Sulphur Springs; two children, Katie and Ryan Craig, both students of Shenandoah Elementary; parents, Rick and Linda Craig of Cadiz; a sister, Lori (husband, Joey) McDaniel of New Castle and their children, Clay and Cole McDaniel of New Castle; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Andrea Bain of Middletown; sister-in-law, Jacinda (husband, Matthew) Brown of LasVegas, NV; maternal grandmother-in-law, Deirdre Fridley of Muncie; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Elma Rains; paternal grandparents, Claud and Barbara Craig; maternal grandfather-in-law, Robert H. Fridley; paternal grandmother-in-law, Margaret Bain.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor C.J. Buskirk officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Katie and Ryan Craig Educational Fund c/o Ameriana Bank, 956 Beechwood Ave., Middletown, IN 47356.
