Steven Mix

Steve Mix, age 61, of New Castle, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born October 9, 1947 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Tom and Gladys (Sosby) Mix.

He was employed at Henry County Hospital for the past 20 years. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and Amvets. Steve was an officer and board member of the New Castle Babe Ruth for fourteen years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Clydia J. (Sadler) Mix of New Castle; two sons: Jackie (wife: Jamie) Mix of Corpus Christi, TX and Richard Neal of New Castle; three sisters: Sue Gosser, Kathy (husband: Walter) Rector and Denise Dean all of New Castle; two brothers: Doyle Mix and Curtis Neal both of New Castle; very special friends: Rex and Jane Brenneman of New Castle; mother and father-in-law: Dr. Bill and Marty Heilman of New Castle; brother-in-law: Chip Sadler of Greencastle; nieces: Cara Williams of New Castle, Erin Sadler of Chicago and Sabrina Gosser of New Castle; nephews: Michael Rector and Kelly Rector both of New Castle and Billy Rector of New Whiteland, IN, Jeffery Massengale of New Castle, Adam Sadler of Hollywood, CA, Stephen Gosser of New Castle and James Mix of Lafayette; special great nieces: Chaylynn Turney and Gracie Carter; special great nephew: Josiah Carter; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Gladys Mix; a sister: Crystal Neal.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at Hinsey-Funeral Service in New Castle with Jackie Mix officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery -West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
