Steven “Speedy” Yeuell Davidson, 58, of Spiceland passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, November 6, 2024 with his beloved dog, Koda, by his side. He was born June 14, 1966 in New Castle to Larry Yeuell Davidson and the late Gladys Lucille (VanPatten) Davidson.
Speedy was a 1985 graduate of Knightstown High School and then worked at Commercial Vinyl with his father and brother for several years. Speedy, a dedicated individual, had been an integral part of Miers Excavating and Demolition for 20 years. Throughout the years, he had proved himself to be an invaluable employee and a cherished friend to his colleagues. His primary roles included truck driving and dispatching responsibilities. He was not only an avid gun collector, but also a devoted supporter of Donald Trump.
Speedy, with his stubborn nature, possessed a heart of gold that compelled him to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was not only a loyal friend but also had a laughter that was contagious, resonating far and wide. He always was bending the rules and had a good story to tell. Speedy was also known for his dedication and hard work at Dishman Farms, where he enjoyed “working the ground” each spring and fall. Patriotism was a key aspect to Speedy’s life, he loved setting off fireworks every Fourth of July and driving Veterans in many local patriotic parades.
Speedy is survived by his father, Larry Yeuell Davidson; brothers, Tim and Anthony Davidson; niece, Lora Davidson; nephew, Will (Michalah) Davidson; great-nieces, Addylyn, Maya, Ashlee, and Magnolia; God children, Reece Hale and Marissa Mercer; his Miers Trucking and Dishman Farms families; and many other close friends that dearly loved him.
