Stevie Joe Talbott, 64, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his home in Mooreland surrounded by his family. Steve was born April 13, 1952 in New Castle to J.C. and Ann Talbott. He graduated from Blue River Valley High School in 1971 and then went on to trade school.
Steve worked at Chrysler for the last 23 years as a toolmaker. He was an avid golfer with his cousins and looked forward to their yearly Kentucky golf trips. Steve was very proud of his hole in one shot while playing with them. He enjoyed working on antique tractors and collecting antique items from auctions and yard sales. Steve also liked Larry Bird, the Three Stooges, cartoons, westerns and collecting hats and coats.
Above all, Steve loved spending time with his grandkids, attending their sporting events, going camping and having them come to his house, where no rules applied. His favorite part of the day was sitting on his back porch watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee.
Steve is survived by his parents, J.C. and Ann Talbott; brother, Jim (Jennifer) Talbott; 3 daughters, April (Rick) Dugger, Kristi Talbott (Jeremy Canterbury), Lori (Greg) Stansbury; mother of his children and special friend, Cathy Talbott Atkins; grandchildren, Shelby Dugger, Lacey, Abigail, Jeremiah and Aleia Canterbury, Xander, Mallory and Jonus Stansbury; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve is preceded in death by his cousin, Donald “Donnie” Ferguson.
