Sue Ann (Tremain) Dawson, 84, formerly of New Castle passed to the Lord on October 3 at Community Hospital Anderson.
Sue was born May 23, 1937 in New Castle, Indiana to Carl and Wanda Tremain. She was a 1955 graduate of New Castle High School and the New Castle Business School. She married Richard Dawson on November 11, 1956 at the 1st Baptist Church.
Sue worked at the New Castle Clinic after graduating and later moved to Anderson where she worked at Montgomery Ward and was a Nursing Assistant at Community Hospital where she retired after 30 years of service.
Sue and Dick were blessed with a son Rick who is the owner of Anderson Speedway and beautiful daughter, Nancy Ann.
Sue enjoyed her family to the fullest and especially enjoyed spending time with her Granddaughter, Lauren and Great Grandson, Calvin and was looking forward to her second great Grandchild in March.
She was a member of the New Castle Elks, where she had served as secretary/Treasurer of the womens’ club, long time member of the Madison County Shrine Ladies Club, Meadowbrook Ladies Golf Club, Daleville Eastern Star, long time member of the Chesterfield Christian Church & Electra Circle of the Church.
Sue is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard, son Rick and wife Brenda, granddaughter Lauren (Dan) Cobb, Great Grandson, Calvin Cobb and Grandchild Cobb in March 2022, Aunt Nancy Beavers of New Castle, nieces and nephews and precious cat, Sassy. Special friends Sue specifically asked to be mentioned Ilene Pentecost, Leah Fallon, Kathy Wallace, Lucretia May of New Castle and Marty Hicks, Edie Bulen of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Ann whom she lost in 1972 at the age of 13, her parents Carl and Wanda Tremain and other close family members whom she held dear.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown after the services.
