Sue Hollars, 71, formerly of Spiceland passed away Saturday morning, September 23, 2017 at the Waters of New Castle. She was born March 15, 1946 in New Castle to the late Farris Jones and Francis (Clowe) Davis.
She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene where she served as a steward, Sunday school teacher, helped with funeral dinners and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, canning, taking care of her home and husband, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Amy (Jon) Milner of New Castle; three step children, Tammy Hollars of Fishers, Timothy (Lisa) Hollars of Andersonville and Terril Gabbard (fiancé, Jr. Blake) of Spiceland; grandchildren, Dane Milner, Luke Milner, Taylor Hunsberger, Dakota Hollars, Justin (Cheyenne) Gabbard, and Kayla Ison (fiancé, Shan Willis); great grandchildren, Ava Gabbard, Jackson Gabbard, Chezniee Ison and Gentry Ison; two sisters, Elizabeth Shoemaker of Anderson and Shirley Dillon of Mooresville; sister-in-law, Betty Davis of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 2008, and several siblings.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Southside Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Friends may from 5-8 PM Monday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 27 in Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, KY.
