Sue Ann Lawrence, 90, of Knightstown passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born November 18, 1933 in Knightstown the daughter of Chester and Ann (Carey) Bartle.
Sue was a 1951 graduate of Knightstown High School. She retired from First National Bank in Knightstown after 30 years and then worked at the Knightstown Library for 20 years. She was a very active member of Knightstown Friends Church and was also a member Tri Kappa. Sue was a very giving person and enjoyed volunteering in the food pantry and just helping people. She was a wonderful, wife, mother and mamaw, and loved spoiling her grandchildren. Sue was the joy of her family and brought a lot of laughter to the home.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Leah Freeman (Chris Simmons), LuAnn (Steve) Peek, Kandy (Doug) Kiehl, and Mark (Dana) Lawrence; grandchildren, Greg Freeman (Tricia), Eric (Cara) Freeman, Jami (Tony) Collins, Rusty Poore (Kathy), Debbie Poore, Lori Newhouse, Darrin (Grace) Poore, Isaac (Brie) Kiehl, Gabrielle (Jake) Newton, and Grant Lawrence (Sara); great grandchildren, Emery and Easton Freeman, Charliee Collins, Tenley Davis, Carlie Newhouse, Asher and Bentlee Hoots, Logan and Ilah Poore, Noelle and Lucy Kiehl, Brooks Newton; one great-great grandchild, Baylor Horton; niece and nephew, Andrea and Steve.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Lawrence; and sister, Sara Lowe.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Oakes and Dana Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
