Sylvia Ann (Neal) Taylor, age 76, of Greensboro, passed away Thursday, March 06, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born March 27, 1937 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Elbert Osco and Vena Jane (Blake) Neal.
Sylvia was a 1954 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, and she received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Ball State Teachers' College in 1975. Sylvia worked as the Henry County Extension Agent in the 1970's and had a weekly radio show on WCTW. She was a member of the library staff at Holland Law Library at the University of Florida, and Bracken Library at Ball State University.
She was active in Henry County 4-H dog club, Westminster Youth Club and a lifelong member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle.
Survivors include her husband, William P. Taylor of New Castle; children, Kevin Lutrell of South Bend, Robin (Tausha) Lutrell of Pendleton, Cherie (Michael) Lutrell Burrow of Greenfield, Madeline Taylor of NE, and Samantha Taylor of Anderson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
