Tami Rutledge Harr, 46, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 26, 2013 while visiting her daughter in Illinois. She was born December 7, 1967, the daughter of Donald C. and Carmalyn "Kandi" Jeanne (Delay) Rutledge.
A 1986 graduate of Tri High School, she worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. A loving mother and wife, she enjoyed scrapbooking, writing poetry, supporting the Casting for Recovery program, and was an avid reader. She loved traveling to Florida, and loved animals, especially her dog Mojo.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 18 years, Herb Harr Jr. of Indianapolis; three children, Maegan Karlee (Lester) Blake of Biggsville, IL, Army Cpl. James William Wesley (Lauren) Raines of Indianapolis, and Emily Leigh-Anne Harr of Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Sabrina Anne Blake of Biggsville, IL; her parents, Don and Kandi Rutledge of Knightstown; her brother, Matt (Jocelyn) Rutledge of Indianapolis; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, multiple close friends and "adopted" kids, including Petty Officer First Class Kendall Henderson, of the U.S. Navy.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anneke Heather Rutledge; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Sid Martin officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
