Tammy Ann Neal, 60, of Shirley, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Henry Community Health, following a very sudden illness. She was born October 5, 1960 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Herman and Helen (Huddleston) Dalton.
A 1979 graduate of Howe High School in Indianapolis, Tammy worked in the Special Education Department at Shenandoah Schools for many years. For the past three years, she had worked at Boar’s Head Provisions in New Castle. She was a member of Kennard Baptist Church, where she enjoyed taking kids to Sunday school, which went along with her gift and passion of working with children. She enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to music, sewing, and studying the Bible. She also loved to cook and take drives to enjoy the beautiful countryside.
Being a very social person, Tammy loved events with friends and family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly 40 years, Darryl A. Neal of Shirley; a son, Jacob Neal (fiancé, Morgan Truitt) of Middletown; a grandson, Landon; a sister, Tina Wilfong of GA; two brothers, Tim Dalton of GA and Tom (Annette) Dalton of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Bradley Neal in 2011; a sister, Carol Robertson and two brothers, Denny Dalton and Mark David Dalton.
