Teresa Gay Holmes

Teresa Gay Holmes, age 54, of Springport, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at IU Ball Hospital in Muncie. She was born November 3, 1959 in New Castle to the late Mary (Denney) Rudloff.

Teresa lived her life surrounded by those she loved. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of twenty-eight years. Together they created a home for their children filled with love, encouragement and respect. Her children were her pride and joy and she would tell you they were her greatest accomplishments. Teresa liked to sew and read but could generally be found enjoying the company of her grandchildren as they filled her home with laughter and play. Her love of family was evident in her kind, gentle nature, her sense of humor and acts of kindness. Her strength showed itself in her positive attitude and determination in her fight against cancer this past year. She stayed optimistic and hopeful till the end.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Robert Holmes of Springport; children, Tausha Holmes of Muncie, Carrie (Jon) Davis and Robert H. Holmes both of Springport; grandchildren, Allyson Holmes, Cooper Davis, Averey Holmes, Kynslee Davis, Madisyn Holmes, Revan Holmes, and Aries Holmes; siblings, William "Bill" (Kathy) Denney of New Castle, Lewis Ray (Joy) Goff of New Castle, Mike (Elisa) Rudloff of Deming, NM, and Julia Rudloff of New Castle and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by: maternal grandmother, Lena Denney; brother, Steve Rudloff and niece, Beth Ann Denney.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Mark and Tim Denney officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
