Thomas E. Harmeson, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 16, 1944 in Frankfort, IN the son of Claude and Jeanette (Elliott) Harmeson.
Tom was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after 38 years working as an electrician. He also was a stage hand employee and retired as a member of IATSE Union Local 30. He was president of the Knightstown Babe Ruth League for a number of years, coached his children’s baseball teams and served as assistant Boy Scout Master. Tom was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying golf, softball, bowling, and watching Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Red’s games. Tom loved fishing, camping, houseboating, and traveling in his RV.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Peggy (Prow) Harmeson of Indianapolis; three sons, Mark T. Harmeson of Lebanon, Matthew T. (Daphine) Harmeson of Kokomo, and Bradley J. (Brooke) Harmeson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Clayton Lowe, Kirsten Wylie, Blake Harmeson, Hannah Harmeson all of Kokomo, Taylor Harmeson of Indianapolis, Henley Harmeson and Harlow Harmeson of Kokomo; four great grandchildren; siblings, Mike (Deanna) Harmeson of Indianapolis, Claudia (Brian) Gard of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Harmeson.
Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM CST Monday, September 26 at East Lawn Cemetery, 5715 Island Ford Rd. Hanson, Kentucky.
