Thomas G. Janes

Thomas G. Janes, 73, of New Castle, passed away Saturday morning, January 12, 2025, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born April 9, 1951, in Manchester, Clay County, KY.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Tom served in combat during the Vietnam War. Tom was a millwright mechanic for over 40 years, working on semis mostly. He also enjoyed auto-body work, loved classic cars, especially his 1955 Chevy. He enjoyed making toy pedal cars and auto restoration.

He leaves to cherish his son, Thomas (Rebecca) Janes of Winthrop Harbor, IL; three grandchildren, Thomas Janes Jr., Justin Janes, and Dominic Janes, all of Winthrop Harbor, IL; a brother, Danny (Sandra) Janes of Spiceland, and a sister, Brenda (Richard) Johnson of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bessie (Grubb) Janes, his wife, Juanita Janes, and his special friend, his dog Charlie.
