Thomas “Larry” Muse, 71, of Spiceland passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Grandview Medical Center, Dayton, OH. He was born November 6, 1944 in Henry County, Indiana to the late McKinley and Virgie (Ratliff) Muse.
Larry retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2004 after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam era. Larry served as Indiana Bass Federation President in 1983-84 and fished in many tournaments across the U.S. He was a member of the New Castle Elks Lodge as well as the American Legion of Knightstown. Larry enjoyed gardening, working on the farm, raising cows and horses, wood working and going to the lake. He especially loved spending time with his grandson, Judah Ben, and attending his swim meets.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Becky (Hall) Muse; two daughters: Larissa (Jeff) Winchester of Greenville, OH and Jillian Muse (Fiancé) Jerremy Dennis of New Castle: a grandson: Judah Ben Winchester; a sister: Helen Johnson of Redford, MI; nieces and nephews: Mark Muse, Debbie (Scott) Walker, Brent Muse, Mike (Kathy) Muse, Vikki (Jim) Pinard and Donnie (Sharon) Johnson; mother-in-law, Betty Hall of Straughn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Woody (Chris) Muse, Kermit (Donna) Muse, Dolly Muse, Keith Muse and his father-in-law, Jay Hall.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Dr. Clark Hobby Officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown with military rites conducted by a contingency of the U.S. Army and the Knightstown American Legion. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the funeral home where an Elks Memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Muncie Animal Rescue Foundation, (ARF) 1209 W.
