Thomas Smith

Thomas Shane Smith, 40 was born August 30, 1984 in New Castle, Indiana took his walk home with Jesus on Thursday, September 5, 2024 after battling an extended illness.

Thomas had a strong relationship with Jesus. He loved hanging out with family, especially his nieces, nephews, and friends. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, going to a variety of concerts and was an avid gamer. Thomas had a big heart and was always looking out for others.

Thomas is loved and survived by his mother, Virginia Dominick; father, Brian Smith; sister, Michelle (Traye) Reeves; brother, Timothy Hammerlund; nieces and nephews: Landon, Paige, and Haylee Reeves, Bryce, Caleb, and Ethan Hammerlund; as well as numerous cousins.

Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents: Earl and Mildred Dominick; great-grandparents: Loren and Elma Shaw; aunt and uncle: Fred and Pat Trieschman; and his cousins: Steve and Michael Trieschman.

Services for Thomas will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, IN. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until the start of the service.
