Timothy "Michael" Stephens

Timothy “Michael” Stephens, 37, of Muncie passed away in his sleep on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at his residence following a battle with cancer. He was born February 26, 1987 in Greenfield to Timothy Lee Stephens and Sheila (Wells) Porter.

Michael’s kindness and infectious positivity made him truly unique. His genuine warmth and ability to bring smiles to people's faces were unmatched. He had a heart that was as big as his smile, spreading joy and reminding others of the beauty in life. Michael enjoyed sports but his favorites were baseball and basketball. He loved participating in the Special Olympics and playing baseball with New Castle Miracle League. Michael's vibrant personality shone through in his love for spending time with family and friends, dancing, and enjoying meals out. His warm and welcoming nature meant he never knew a stranger, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. The memories of his joyful presence will be dearly cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife and companion, Debbie Creveling; parents, Tim Stephens and Sheila Porter; sisters, Rachel Stephens and Kaylee Comfort; aunts and uncles, Chuck (Heather) Stephens, Teresa (Dan) Cullison, Dawn (Nate) Sanders, Kim (Ray) Flanigan, Cindy (Dick) Archer; special cousin, Amanda Bazan; several other cousins and friends at Indiana Mentor. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Don (Peggy) Stephens, James (Sherra) Wells; brother, Quinton Stephens; sister, Courtney Stephens and an uncle, Robert Stephens.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Josh Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Castle Miracle League or Timothy Michael Stephens Memorial Fund to assist the family with funeral expenses.
