Tives Lloyd Fitch

Tives Lloyd “Tib” Fitch, 79, of Arlington, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 26, 1933 in Fitch, Kentucky, a son of the late Uni and Sadie (Richmond) Fitch.

A veteran of the United States Navy, he worked for D and S Farm Equipment Sales in Shelbyville and retired from Swindell Farm Equipment Sales in Wilkinson, following 25 years of employment with the companies. He was a member of the Carthage Friends Meeting for many years, the Knightstown American Legion, and a Model A Car Club. He enjoyed sports, racing, rebuilding and driving his Model A Ford, and was a devoted family man.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Dennis Fitch of Shelbyville, Kileen (Phil) Piles of Arlington, Perry Fitch of Arlington, Gayla Harris of Knightstown; four grandchildren: Clint (Kelly) Piles of Rushville, Carly (Sam) Edrington of Rushville, Kara (Dan) Llewellyn of Whiteland, Chris Harris of Indianapolis; great grandchildren: Sophie Piles, Owen Piles and Eli Edrington all of Rushville, Tenley Llewellyn of Whiteland, Jacob Harris of Indianapolis; a brother: Glenn Fitch of Carthage.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2001, whom he married July 14, 1957, Janice (Wilson) Fitch; a brother: Orba Fitch.

Services will be private on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
