Tommy L Massengale

Tommy L. Massengale, age 64, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born October 18, 1946 to the late Virgil and Emma Lee (Cecil) Massengale.

He was a self employed construction worker and previously worked at Chrysler Corporation. He had also worked on oil rigs in Oklahoma for several years. A veteran of the United States Army, he served in Okanawa. He enjoyed visiting friends and family and spending time with his granddaughter.

Survivors include his son, Elvis (wife, Sherrie) Massengale of Martinsville; granddaughter, Emilee Massengale of Martinsville; sister, Carol Sweigart of New Castle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Bobby Joe and Jimmy Ray Massengale.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Reverend Frank Wood officiating. Burial will be at a later time at South Mound Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and the VFW. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at the funeral home.
