Tony E. Riley, 89, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Heritage House in Shelbyville. He was born September 4, 1919 in Lewis County, Kentucky the son of the late Jack W. and Mary Jane (Richmond) Riley.
Tony was an Army veteran of World War II where he served as a medical technician. An avid gardener and woodworker, he was definitely known for being a hard worker and was very passionate about his garden. He attended the Carthage Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Olive (Spence) Riley of Shelbyville; a daughter: Janice Clark of Indianapolis; two grandsons: Rodney (wife: Terri) Fannin of CO and Boyd (wife: Jami) Fannin of Beech Grove; four great grandchildren: Clay, Wyatt, Garrett and Baileigh Fannin; two step great grandchildren: Hannah and Dalton Perry; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 22, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Verlin Chip officiating. Military rites will be conducted.
