Tracy E. Sparks, age 53, of Spiceland, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Hancock Regional Hospital due to complications from a auto accident in April 2013. He was born May 11, 1961 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Claude and Rozetta (Haynes) Sparks.
A 1979 graduate of Tri High School, he had worked at Emporia Grain and for the past 25 years has been employed at Exide in Muncie. He enjoyed farming, raising horses and the outdoors in general. He also enjoyed NASCAR, basketball, tractor pulls, collecting John Wayne memorabilia, and his automobiles. Tracy loved his two dogs, Jasmine and Jake, and his dog and companion, of several years, Bandit who passed away.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Sparks of Indianapolis; a daughter, Julie Sparks of Anderson; four grandsons, Michael Harsh, Zach Purdy, Nick Purdy and Devon Frame; two sisters, Paula Hinshaw of Spiceland and Kelly (Monte) Langley of Spiceland; three brothers, Tim Sparks (friend, Marsha Carmer) both of Greenfield, Jeff (Amy) Sparks of KY and Greg (Roberta) Sparks of FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Gene Bennett officiating.
