V. Joan "Annie" Antic

V. Joan “Annie” Antic, age 82, of New Castle, went to join the angels Sunday, October 11, 2015 after a long illness. She was born on May 16, 1933 in New Castle to the late Clay and Mamie (Jones) Purvis.

She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She was active with the ladies' groups at the Church and helped at the school functions. Family was her first priority. She enjoyed sewing, skating, boating, and country music.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Antic; twin grandsons, Bryan and Brandon Antic; a sister, Mary Jo Graves; several nieces and nephews; and a special brother-in-law and his wife, Robert and Donna Antic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George D. Antic; sons, Anthony “Tony” Antic and George David Antic III; brothers, Paul Purvis and Thomas Purvis; sisters, Dorothy Whary, Eunice Purvis, Eula Lockridge, and Martha Stairs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Joe Rautenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery.
