Vada “Pauline” Bell, age 84, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 7, 2015 in IU Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born March 31, 1931 in Omar, WV, a daughter of the late William H. and Mayme (Norris) Parrish.
Pauline was a 1949 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. She retired from Modernfold Industries in New Castle following over 40 years as an office secretary. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of New Castle and enjoyed meeting her friends at Stacks for breakfast. She also enjoyed listening to music.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Ed) Mullins of Muncie, and Susan (Kevin) Ison of Kokomo; two grandchildren, Jenny (Jason) Otto of Muncie and Matthew Ison of Kokomo; sisters, Janice Halphin of New Castle, Wanda West of Losantville, Lois (Bill) Archey of New Castle, Sue (Porter) Coffey of New Castle, Darlene Parrish of New Castle; brothers, Cletius “Bud” Parish of Deltona, FL, and David Parrish of New Castle; also, an aunt, Lena Greer of Muncie, and a brother-in-law, Lee Wilhelm of New Castle; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Bell in January, 2013, and a sister, Phyllis Wilhelm in 2011.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Mandye Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
