Ventla M. Day, age 86, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Addison House. She was born June 3, 1923 in Wayne County, Kentucky to the late Willie H. and Myrtle Z. (Crabtree) Chriswell.
She loved music, taking pictures of flowers and sunsets, she also loved cooking, crocheting and gardening. Ventla collected angels.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie (husband, Richard) Masters of New Castle; two sons, Danny (wife, Sharon) Day of Spiceland and Michael Day of TX; three granddaughters and two grandsons; nine great grandchildren; several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Day in 1999.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend David Perry officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2010 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
