Vernia E Judd

Vernia E. (Patton) Judd, age 78, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born April 7, 1933 in Crawford County, Indiana to the late Leon Alfred and Hazel Rebecca (Dooley) Patton.

She graduated in English Indiana and had worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison for 13 ½ years. Vernia was a member of Memorial Wesleyan Church in New Castle. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and working on the computer.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James Richard Judd of New Castle; children, Richard (wife, Linda) Judd of Ellettsville, IN, Sharon Alexander of Cocoa, FL and Sandra Judd of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Melissa Judd of Sunman, IN, Courtney Judd of Bloomington, IN, Ciara Dupke of Muncie, Raegan Dupke of Cocoa, FL and Dustin Underwood of Ellettsville, IN; great grandchildren, Bri Judd of Ellettsville, IN and Jaxson Judd of Sunman, IN; sister-in-law, Lucille Dearborn of Taswell, IN; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clovis Elvin Patton; sisters, Alma Lenz and Aleene Thomas; grandchildren, Christopher Judd and Maggie Dupke.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Memorial Wesleyan Church in New Castle with Pastor Paul Kirk and Reverend Marvin Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
