Vicki Lynn Williams

Vicki L. Williams, 70, of New Castle, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren and loved ones in her home as she went into the arms of Jesus. She was born December 11, 1954, in Rushville to Thomas and Doris (Marine) Fletcher.

A 1973 graduate of Chrysler High School, Vicki worked at Top Hat Pizza King while in high school and then worked for a short time at Ball Hospital in Muncie. She then began working at Henry County Hospital, where she worked for the next 50 years, mostly as a medical transcriptionist. Over her years there, she worked for Family Physicians and Surgeons offices.

“She was the sweetest woman in the world”, was one way her girls described her. She was the best “Nanny”, a crochet artist, and an avid reader, and loved her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her four daughters, Leslie Miller (Justin Turner) of New Castle, Rebekah Williams of New Castle, Valerie (Bradley) Lowhorn of New Castle, and Emily Williams (Alexis Carman) of Louisville, KY; her mother, Doris Horton of Shirley; a granddaughter whom she raised, Sophie Williams; twelve grandchildren, Gavin (Ashley) Miller, Blade Miller, Simon Miller, Lydiah Lowhorn, Vivian Lowhorn, Roland Lowhorn, Jaidan Carman and Paisleigh Carman, and Elliott Williams.

Also, eight sisters, Sue Fisher, Carol (Mark) Simerly, Sandy (Pete) Boles, Barbara Morgan, Lisa (Ken) Bowling, Julie (Tracey) Evans, Joy Fletcher, and Brenda (Tony) Wilkinson; two brothers, Fred (Tina) Fletcher and Terry (Helen) Parks; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son in stillbirth, Phillip; her dad, Thomas Fletcher, her stepmother, Donna Fletcher; a sister, Candy Parks; and two brothers, David Fletcher and Kim Parks.

Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Brent Weaver of Kennard Baptist Church. Cremation will follow services.
