Vickie J. Day, 61, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 in her home following an extended illness. She was born October 30, 1949 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Joe and Eunice (Moistner) Johnson.

She lived in Somerset, Kentucky most of her life, and moved to Knightstown in 1997. She had worked at Palm Beach in Somerset for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at American Legion Post #152 in Knightstown. A member of the Church of Christ in Somerset, she attended the Greensboro Church of the Nazarene.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jerry R. Day Sr. of Knightstown; five sons, Darrin E. (wife, Brenda) Johnson of Clinton, UT, Larry Gailylon Wall (girlfriend, Amanda Coffey) of Somerset, KY, Jerry R. Jr. (wife, Laura) Day of Carthage, IN, Marty (wife, Sherri) Day of Carthage, IN, and Joe (wife, Missy) Day of Knightstown; twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also, three sisters, Angela Dick, Brenda Vaught and Shirley Calhoun, all of Somerset, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, KY. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery in Science Hill, KY. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Local visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel in Knightstown. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
