Vickie S. McKinney, 55, of Knightstown passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born October 8, 1953 in New Castle, IN the daughter of Mitchell and the late Mildred (Hamilton) Porter.
She had worked for 26 years at Smurfit Stone Container Corporation and had been employed as a pharmacy tech at Kroger in New Castle. Vickie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 152.
She is survived by her father: Mitchell D. Porter of Knightstown; two daughters: Nichole (husband: David) Davis of Arlington; Jaime Thurman (boyfriend: Dusty Massengale) of Greenfield; a brother: Ray (wife: Rebecca) Porter of Anderson; two sisters: Kathleen (husband: Cecil) Powell of Morristown and Jeanine McCullers of Knightstown; three grandsons: Jarrod, Caleb and Grant Davis of Arlington; special friends: John Hill and Irene Tumilty; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her grandparents.
A celebration of life service will be conducted by Pastor Randy Gross and Bill Mitchell at 10:00 AM Friday, April 3, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday, April 2.
