Virginia Brumley, age 80, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Integra in Muncie, Indiana. She was born March 17, 1932 in Wayne County, Kentucky to the late James and Mary Ethel (Blackburn) Massengale.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended North 14th Street Church of God. She enjoyed playing board games with her friends and loved spending time with her family. She was an avid Bible reader and often studied with her sister.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Melvin Eugene Brumley; children, Sherry Martin (companion, Mark Bowling) of Spiceland, Gail (husband, Jeff) Cummings of New Castle and Randy (wife, Kelly) Brumley of New Castle; five grandchildren, Cindi (husband, Bryan) Rottinghaus, Matt (wife, Lisa) Hill, Jason (wife, Casey) Ellis, Ashley (husband, Kyle) Beavers and Kyle Brumley; eleven great grandchildren, Spencer and Shelby Rothinghaus, Luke, Jake and Mia Hill, Alexis and LynLeigh Ellis, Bobby and Trey Taylor, Grant and Gwen Beavers; sister, Becky (husband, Hack) Owens of Alpha, KY; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene “Hugh” and Tom “Gabby” Massengale; great granddaughter, Jasmyn Ellis.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Brother Phil Brown officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
