Virginia “Ginny” Mills, 96, of Muncie and formerly of Hagerstown/New Castle passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. She was born November 20, 1928 in Helena, Tennessee to the late Frederick and Bonnie Wright.

Ginny grew up in Jamestown, Tennessee before moving to Indiana with her family. She was a 1947 graduate of New Castle Senior High School and later attended business college. Ginny was the Administrative Assistant to the President at Perfect Circle for 13 years. She also owned and operated Ginny’s Hallmark in New Castle and Mills Reality in Hagerstown for many years. She was a longtime and active member of the United Church of Christ in Hagerstown. Ginny was also a member of the Beta Sigma Chi and the Singing Secretaries. She enjoyed sitting on the porch and visiting with friends, crossword puzzles, knitting, baking and cooking, known for her butterscotch pies.

Ginny enjoyed spending time with her family. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids made her smile and she cherished creating memories and having fun. She enjoyed talking on the phone or porch with friends.

She is survived by her children, Sherri Gleeson and Gary Mills (Tom DeLuca); grandchildren, Heather (Henry) Whitmire, Trenton (Shayna) Gleeson; great grandchildren, Rory Alan Gleeson, Rowyn Elizabeth Gleeson, Everett Alan Whitmire and Emmett Lee Whitmire; sisters-in-law, Donna Mills, Brenda Wright and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” L. Mills; siblings, Tom, Jack, James “Bud” Wright, Patti Wright-Duffy, Bobby Wright; brother-in-law, Danny Mills and a sister-in-law, Eileen Bennett.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Charles Dugger officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be given to the Congregational Christian Church, 201 S Washington St. Hagerstown, IN 47346. You may express condolences or share a memory of Ginny at www.hinsey-brown.com.
