Vonda G. Morgan

Vonda G. Morgan, 72, formerly of New Castle passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Gowin Parc in Mattoon, IL. She was born April 16, 1941 in Albany, Kentucky to the late James and Mattie (Hayes) Asberry.

A homemaker, she had attended St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle. Vonda enjoyed her cats, gardening, shopping and spending time with her children, brothers and sisters. Always a doting grandmother, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two children: Bryan (Kathy) Morgan of Kokomo and Stephanie (Don) Davis of Mattoon, IL; eight grandchildren: Alexandra and Steven Morgan, Nate, Bradley and Jake Marcum, Morgan, Phillip and Caroline Davis; three sisters: Monrie Asberry Neisler of Wheaton, IL, Faye (Danny) Fairchild of Mt. Summit and Darlene (Steve) Riggs of Upland; four brothers: Vasco Asberry, Conway (Betty Joy) Asberry, Gordon (Bonnie) Asberry and Johnny (Betty Jean) Asberry, all of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley G. Morgan in June, 2000, a daughter: Jennifer Marcum and a brother: Donald Asberry.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Brother Phil Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
