Warren Lee Thornburg

Warren Lee Thornburg, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning May 12, 2024. Lee was born September 29, 1956 to the late Warren and Phyllis (Wright) Thornburg.

Lee grew up on the family farm while attending Union High School in Modoc. While growing up, Lee was an ornery kid who loved to have fun teasing and pranking his brothers and cousins. His sense of humor was infectious. Lee along with his brother Joe started Thornburg Brothers Trucking, Inc. in the late 1970's while continuing to farm. In 2002 Lee founded L.T. Sales, Inc. in Modoc where he served as President. Lee continued to head-up Lee Thornburg Farms, LLC until his death. Lee was a caring person who valued family and friendships. He never met a stranger and could strike-up a conversation with anyone. Lee especially loved kids, he adored them and loved to spend time with them.

He is survived his brother, Joe (wife Gay); stepdaughter, Brooke Addington; step grandchildren, Nathaniel Long, Hannah Long, and Isaiah Addington; a nephew and 2 nieces along with several cousins.

Visitation will be from 11 am till 1 pm. on Monday May 20, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Funeral services will be at 1 pm with burial follow at The Union Cemetery in Windsor.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Modoc Volunteer Fire Department or Randolph County 4H.
