Wendell E. Clark, 92, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital following a brief illness. He was born October 26, 1919 in Gary, IN the son of Joseph Roscoe and Laura Alice (Twomey) Clark.
Wendell spent most of his career as a car salesman and later worked at and retired from the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home. He was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and American Legion Post #152. He enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and loved Purdue basketball. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking and refinishing antiques.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 72 years: Maxine (Leisure) Clark of Knightstown; children: Terry (Judy) Clark of Ft. Wayne, Phil (Sharon) Clark of Wilkinson, Connie Lewis of Shelbyville, Kathy (Marion) Adkins of Knightstown; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Wayne Clark; Fern Manning; Terry Clark; son-in-law: Larry Lewis.
Services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Mervin Kilmer and Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #152 and an active duty contingent of the U.S. Navy. Friends may call from 10 AM until time of service.
