Wilbur Allen Keesling

Wilbur Allen Keesling, 78 of Grayson, KY, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away June 29, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. One of 9 children, he was born August 5, 1935 in Kennard, a son of the late William G. and Isabell Jane (Darling) Keesling.

Wilbur retired from IBM in Indianapolis. He attended Ironhill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved his family and church family dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years whom he married in a double wedding ceremony, Jessie (Clay) Keesling; a son: Stephen (Beverly) Keesling of Indianapolis; four daughters; Lisa (Paul) Powell of Indianapolis, Pam (Kevin) Elliott of Knightstown, Debra Bentley-Keesling of Indianapolis, and Dora (Steve) Stern of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Nikki (Chris) Brummett of Chicago, Constance (Brice) Keeney of CA, Tiffany (Paul) Petersen of Mooresville, Deidre Hull of Cumberland, Matthew, Bradley and Jessica Gebhart of Greenfield, Amy (Michael) Jennings of Cumberland, Adam Keesling of Indianapolis, Trista (Kenneth) Blair, Amber and Cody Bentley of Indianapolis, Drew and Dylan Stern of Indianapolis; great grandchildren: William Finely, Kobe and Lailah Keeney, Hunter Fox, Chloe Powell, Lilly Jennings, Austin Keesling, Gabriel, Haleigh and Aleigh Blair

He is also survived by two brothers: Rex (Pam) Keesling of Greensfork and Daryl (Patti) Keesling of Knightstown; five sisters: Darlene (Malcom) Petry of New Castle, Clara (Jerry) Donaldson of Greenfield, Bonnie (Ross) Manche of Knightstown, Vicki (Ed) Witham of New Castle, and Colleen Keesling of Knightstown; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Keesling-Gebhart; a granddaughter, Regan Narmore; and a brother, Fredrick Keesling.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in the Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 AM until time of service. You may express a condolence or share a memory of Wilbur at www.hinsey-brown.com .
