Wilbur Eugene Weimer, 92, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born January 28, 1921 in Winchester, the son of Alva and Blanche Weimer.
A lifelong farmer, Wilbur was very active in the Knightstown community throughout his life. He served on the Henry County Planning Commission, was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church and Kiwanis Club, where he had served as president. He also enjoyed flying his own plane.
He is survived by two sons: Robert (Camile) Weimer and David (Jean) Weimer both of Knightstown; step-son: Larry (Rosalie) Kaylor of Langhorne, PA; grandchildren: Heather (Greg) Turner, Monica (Alex) Pasquel, Wendy (Doug) Sawyer, and D.J. Weimer; great grandchildren: Alexis, Mackenzie, and Nathan Turner, William Pasquel, Audrey, Ella and Caroline Sawyer; two sisters: Thelma McAllister and June Kessen; a brother-in-law: Ernest Thornburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Mabel Wilson Weimer in 1989 and his second wife: Willodean Gephart Kaylor Weimer in 2011; a sister: Betty Thornburg; a granddaughter: Hilary Anne Weimer; two brothers-in-law: Jay McAllister and Bud Kessen.
Services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Curt Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to IU Simon Cancer Center for Dr. Shadia Jahal's research.
