Willetta Sue Bryson, 68, of Spiceland, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in her home following an extended illness. She was born April 20, 1944 in Knightstown, IN, a daughter of the late William Virgil and Almeda Evelyn (Gorman) Burton.
A 1962 graduate of Knightstown High School, Sue retired from Henry County Memorial Hospital in 2010 after over 46 years of service, working most of that time the lab as microbiology supervisor. She was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church for many years, was a Master Gardener, and in addition to gardening, enjoyed camping and raising and showing Arabian horses.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of over 50 years, John L. Bryson of Spiceland, sisters, Nancy (Ken) Foertsch of Cincinnati, OH, and Debra (Doug Hooker) Burton of Knightstown; and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Wallace, a brother, William Alfred Burton, and a brother in infancy.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
