William E. Beach, 98, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday morning, January 27, 2013, at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 27, 1914 in Simpson County, Kentucky to the late Eldon Hall and Vinie (Pearson) Beach.
A veteran of the Merchant Marines, he retired from Industrial Heat Treat in Indianapolis after 32 years of service. Mr. Beach attended Knightstown Bethel Holiness Church. He loved working on his car and playing harmonica.
He leaves to cherish his memory, five children, Dan R. (wife, Kitty) Beach of Danville, Margaret Ann Cross of Knightstown, Eldon T. (wife, Carol) Beach of Martinsville, Patricia S. Booher of Knightstown, and Michael W. (wife, Tammy) Beach of Beech Grove; twenty six grandchildren; fifty three great grandchildren; thirty nine great-great grandchildren; several siblings, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Velma E. Beach in 2004, a son: James W. Beach; a son-in-law, Rick Booher; his step-mother, Mandy and several siblings.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor George Maloyed officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the funeral home.
